The race for the South African top-flight appears to be going down to the wire with both Sundowns and current league leaders Orlando Pirates dropping points in recent weeks.
Pirates were actually in a commanding lead before allowing Sundowns to within one point and a game in hand.
But while the Buccaneers recently drew with Siwelele and Richards Bay, the Brazilians were held to a 1-1 draw with Stellenbosch.
The Natal Rich Boyz, meanwhile, come into this tie aiming for an eighth-placed finish to their season - currently in 10th with 30 points from 25 games, four adrift of Golden Arrows, who are two places better off.
They are unbeaten in the last three, seeing off Stellenbosch 2-1, drawing 2-2 with Pirates and defeating TS Galaxy 1-0.
Ahead of the game, Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso says he expects an immediate response from his team.
"We have to do it in Richards Bay, that’s it. Until then, there will be a lot of silence. The sound of not winning is silence. For sure, there will be a lot of that noise because we want to win every game.
"We have that intention, but we need to deal with that responsibility. There is still a lot to play. We just need to worry about the next match now."
Speaking after his team drew with Bucs at the Richards Bay Stadium, co-coach Papi Zothwane admits his side are not easy to beat at home.
"It’s difficult to beat us here because we are not only playing for ourselves but for our supporters, they have been hungry for matches here," he said on SuperSport.
"When they come here, they must get something from us. It feels good to be in front of our supporters after a long time. Whatever we do, we do it for our supporters."
